it's a smoke screen ladies and gentleman. They want to test the waters on amending the Constitution so they can water it down. They pick and poke with hot buttons like this until they desensitize us to it enough to attack our real liberties.
Do we really this bunch of gangsters knows more about good government then our forefathers knew? Fuck no. George W Bush doesn't have shit on George Washington. He's a puppet and not a leader. He's simply furtherr up the string than most of us.

here's the thing, gay marriage is a very simple issue. Marriage is a contract, that is why one must go to court to exit from a marriage; if it were simply a religious ritual or some other institution as the conservatives claim, people seeking to divorce could simply have the church dispose of the matter, which is possible in certain Catholic situations. However, as it is considered a contract homosexual persons, according to constitutional law as it now stands should be permitted to marry/enter into contracts. In the United States, the only persons who are not permitted to enter into contracts are minors and those persons who have been declared mentally incapacitated through a court proceeding. Therefore, by denying homosexual persons the right to marry, certain states and federal government officials are implying that homosexuals are either mentally incapacitated or minors. If the person seeking to enter into the marriage contract does not fall into one of those two categories, constitutionally speaking, there are no legal grounds to deny them.
